And everyone from bollywood celebs to her fans were all praises for her realistic look and uncanny resemblance to her. Even Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel, who’s also a real life acid attack survivor applauded it saying as an acid attack survivor she’ll be their biggest cheerleader. She wrote, “No matter how unfair and unjust the world is we musn’t reflect what we hate, this is commendable on @deepikapadukone and @meghnagulzar part, being an acid attack survivor I pledge to be their biggest cheerleader #Chhapaak”

Director Meghna Gulzar said while talking about Deepika’s role role at an event, “You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika. There is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika.”
Talking about her decision to produce the film, Deepika stated in an interview that she was deeply moved when she heard the story as it’s not just one of violence but of strength and courage, hope and victory — and that made a huge impact on her both personally and creatively. That’s why she decided to go beyond and took the decision of producing the film.
This is Deepika’s first film post the humungous success of Padmavat and we can’t wait to see her essay this awe-inspiring character.
